Jessie Inman – International Trade and Market Development Consultant

Jessie Inman is a globally experienced executive whose career has been defined by a deep commitment to international trade development across North America, Europe, and Asia. With over three decades of leadership in international commerce, Jessie has served in high-impact roles where she has advanced Canada’s economic interests on the world stage, including as Canada’s Investment Advisor to Indonesia, based in Jakarta. In that role, she successfully guided more than 50 Canadian firms in establishing market presence in Southeast Asia—working across sectors such as oil and gas, mining, infrastructure, and manufacturing. She played a critical role in forging bilateral trade partnerships, interpreting complex investment regulations, and aligning Canadian business capabilities with market opportunities. Jessie was the Vice-President of the Indonesia Canada Chamber of Commerce for ten years and co-led the creation of the Indonesia International Chamber of Commerce and was instrumental in founding the Foreign Investment Advisory Group of Indonesia.

Jessie set up an extensive manufacturing capacity with multiple partners for Palliser Canada in Central Java including the full supply chain management from tree to finished products being shipped to North America.

Earlier in her career, prior to moving to Asia in 1994, Jessie worked in the U.S., Europe and Southeast Asia through the Canadian Department of Foreign Affairs and Industry Canada, where she led trade missions, environmental technology collaborations, and infrastructure-focused delegations involving dozens of Canadian companies. These initiatives fostered lasting business ties between Canadian enterprises and foreign governments, including successful trade and investment relationships in ASEAN countries and across the United States.

After leaving Indonesia, she was CEO of an environmental technology carbon capture start-up company in Australia and led patent protection as well as the research and development of potential markets for this unique technology.

Jessie has participated in Team Canada Missions to other countries involving the Canadian Prime Minister and all Premiers, most notably to several large cities in China.

Jessie brings a keen awareness of political risk when assessing new markets and has long been a strong advocate for market diversification. She understands that over-reliance on a single market can leave companies vulnerable and emphasizes the importance of being prepared to pivot quickly and pursue growth opportunities in alternative regions when conditions shift.

Like every Canadian, Jessie has been watching the developing relationship between Canada and the United States and trusts she can bring her international trade experience and expertise to companies during these uncertain times.
